A fantastic end to the half term for the children presented with Headteacher Stickers this morning. It has been a really successful half term for all our children. Well done.

We are so proud of both our netball teams who took part in the Inter Schools Netball Tournament at Lady Hawkins. They all played brilliantly with the A Team winning and now going on to represent us at the Herefordshire Winter Games. Amazing.

The second day of Yr6 ‘Bikeabilty’ sessions with the children learning how to be safe on the roads and how to maintain their bikes. Some of them had awful weather to contend with but have ridden brilliantly, learnt such a lot and had fun.

A big thank you to parents who attended our Reading Evening. They were pleased to be able to look closely at how we teach reading and how parents can really help. The workshop sessions made it age appropriate and gave the opportunity for some helpful discussions. Parents were also able to see the fantastic new book that the Friends of Kington Primary School have bought for the children. Kington Library books were also on display.

We celebrated Harvest in the school as the weather unfortunately stopped us going to St Mary’s. The children filled the hall with song, dance and poetry. We gave thanks for our harvest food and collected £41 for our link school in Uganda. We hope this will help them to grow produce for their harvest next year.

We have had two very special visitors in school over the past two days. Henry Perkins, just two weeks old, came to say hello. The children were so quiet and full of wonder and Henry was fabulous too. Mr Gilling, just visible behind the piano, filled the hall with music as we practised for Harvest.

We have ended another super week with children receiving Headteacher Awards for hard work, committment and a fabulous attitude.

We had a fantastic assembly led by Joe. The children love the songs and the actions and we even had two of our Yr6 pupils acting out the story. Great fun.

A group of children from Yr3 and Yr4 were chosen as our star Historians and spent the day at Lady Hawkins' School exploring 'The Riddle of the Mummy's Curse'. They had such an interesting and rewarding day.
