  • Celebration

Thu 16 Dec 2021 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

We have really tried to make this final week as fun and festive as possible. Christmas lunch was a great success and delicious. The chocolate Christmas log a big hit, as always.

It was brilliant that Father Christmas, and one of his elves, were cleared to make a visit. A gift was left for each of the children in their very own class sack. He particularly enjoyed the singing and acted as conductor on a few occasions. The children were very excited especially as he visited on Party Day.

Party Day was a day to dress up and enjoy something a little different.  Each class found a way to make the day festive and great fun with games, quizzes and films as well as their own festive packed lunch.

It was brilliant to end the week with our Achievement Certificates, which are awarded half termly for that extra special something.  We celebrated with the children and reflected on all the things that they have achieved this term.

We wished each other a Happy Christmas and looked forward to 2022. Thoughts of love, hope, peace and magic were shared.

These wishes are sent to everyone who supports the school and have been amazing at making this term as brilliant as it has been.

Thank you and Happy Christmas everyone.

Thank you to Mr Lam for editing the videos of each class celebration, which can be found here, in our Video Resource Centre. We are sure you will enjoy watching and maybe joining in with some of the singing.

  • Incredible Children

Thu 09 Dec 2021 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

We came to the end our wonderful Christmas Celebrations with some of our youngest and oldest children. The First Nativity with our Reception class was magical with Year Six finishing the week with incredible songs, poems, and the music of Christmas. We have really enjoyed these past few days sharing Christmas with our families.

In assembly we congratulated our new Sports Council members and all of the children who had been awarded Headteacher Stickers this week. The incredible skills and nature of our children came through as we also remembered why we were wearing our Christmas jumpers and festive colours.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to Save The Children today. We will let you know our grand total next week. The funds raised will make such a difference to so many children so thank you!

  • Enrichment Day

Wed 08 Dec 2021 Mrs AC Phillips

Today was our second Enrichment Day of the year with the theme of Interdependence.

The weather unfortunately changed some of our plans, with a few activities now taking place later in the week. Our Reception class were able to see the front cover of a very exciting book, but have to wait until Friday to explore what lies within.

We used several wonderful books to inspire the children to ask questions, be creative, and research ideas.

Throughout the day we were thinking about how we depend on each other and nature; and how nature depends on us. We have such thoughtful, kind, and caring children; and days like today really show those fabulous characteristics. Year Five were able to share their festive celebrations with their families, even though we had to open all the windows and bring everyone safely inside.

We are enjoying bringing a little bit of the Christmas spirit to our community.

  • Sparkle and Shine

Thu 02 Dec 2021 Mrs AC Phillips and Mr D Perkins

We have certainly welcomed in December in style. Our oldest children watched a fabulous Pantomime and were so grateful to be chosen by the children and the families as we could not all watch this year. We hope that the hall will be full next year but Yr5 and Yr6 certainly made a lot of fabulous pantomime noise.

School has started to sparkle with signs of the festive season but the biggest sparkle comes from our children who every week amaze us at all they have achieved. We are constantly impressed with the work that they do in all subjects and the positive attitude and determination they show.

Friendship and Tolerance are our new Values for this month and the children give us so many examples of both in all they do. It is always so rewarding to share with them as some receive their Headteacher Stickers and we say well done to everyone.

We have also seen the start of small but beautiful celebrations with our families. Year One and Year Two treated us to the precious story of Christmas, with their Nativity, while Year Three shared lots of amazing creative activities and gave us a fantastic song to finish.

There are lots more celebrations to look forward to next week and how amazing is it to be able to welcome families into school in some little way. We know that this is the best gift we could give to you and are so grateful to you all for supporting your children and giving us such a wonderful school community of remarkable young people.
